I have been through 2 different bookkeepers and 3 accountants in a 9 month period, which makes it difficult to re-explain items as well as charged for the time for each of them to go back through what the prior person had already done. I was charged twice the amount that I was told I would be for my business taxes and still trying to figure out how much I owe in penalties because they didn't file the forms they were supposed to. The owner, assured me that the firm would pay my business tax penalties since that was a part of our agreement but still didn't file the forms after that conversation leading to more penalties. Very disappointed. Especially when the owner deflects any responsibility. I will delete this post if things are made right, and really hope that is the case.

Bob did much better for me than H&R. I am a 1099 private contractor and he saved me quite a bit, all honest and above board. Even got got me an unexpected, decent refund on my Colorado state income tax. Much more due diligence than H&R. Chris is also a consummate pro in her duties. Probably my last accountant until we retire to my wife's country.

I am updating this review based on the owner's response.

While you did send out a letter indicating a price increase, no where in the notice did it indicate that the price increase would be 100% more than what I paid the previous year. Also by waiting to the beginning of the tax season to notify us of the price increase, you reduced our chances of finding another provider. You obviously knew by at least May that what you were charging wasn't meeting your needs, and thus had the opportunity to provide more notice.

Lindsay and her team has been helping me with my taxes for several years now. It's great to now have everything taken care of with my book keeping as well to make sure I'm compliant. I get a P&L and asset summary every month and as a result only have to bring a few documents at the end of the year. It's better than the way my old CPA was having me do things.
