I worked with this company trying to find a rental property in Panama City Florida. After viewing the property I contacted her to make sure it was still available and was told that she had a couple of applications so to call her back the next week to see if they fell through. She relisted the ad so I contacted her again and was sent an application to complete and then she requested that I cash app her $45 to complete the Application processing. I then got an email asking me to verify my identity where the website specifically called out that it only cost them 29.95. I then did not hear anything from her and when I followed up she said they had rented the apartment to someone else with no explanation as to why. My $45 is obviously nonrefundable. Knowing that other people applied and paid an application fee before me, she accepted my application and fee With no notice that someone else may get the property before me. Seems kind of shady to me.

Update.

Just saw that they posted another unit in the same location on Facebook. Send a message to see if I should reapply or if my existing application can be carried over. Will update if I get a response.
