Caution: Serious Concerns Regarding Aaron Rask and Summit Financial Solutions – Negligence, Self-Interest, and Poor Financial Management

I referred a close friend to Aaron Rask at Summit Financial Solutions, expecting professional, ethical, and sound financial advice. Instead, she was subjected to one of the most egregious examples of financial mismanagement I have ever witnessed.

Following the passing of her husband, my friend sought responsible guidance to ensure her financial security. Rather than prioritizing her well-being, Aaron Rask placed nearly 70% of her assets into an illiquid annuity, severely restricting her access to the funds she depends on to survive. Now, should she need to access her own money, she faces exorbitant surrender penalties—an entirely foreseeable consequence that he either failed to disclose or deliberately ignored.

Adding to this already devastating financial burden, he then sold her a whole life insurance policy with an outrageous $53,000 annual premium, despite knowing she has no dependents and that the policy served no reasonable purpose. This was not a miscalculation—it was a blatant act of financial negligence, prioritizing commissions over a client’s best interests.

As a result, my friend now faces a financial crisis that was entirely avoidable had Aaron acted with even the slightest degree of integrity or professional responsibility. This is not just poor advising—it is predatory and reckless.

I deeply regret ever entrusting Aaron Rask with my referral, and I strongly caution anyone considering his services to think twice. A financial advisor’s duty is to protect and grow a client’s assets, not to exploit their trust for personal gain. Based on this experience, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Aaron Rask or Summit Financial Solutions to anyone.

I met Aaron maybe 5 or 6 years ago and he encouraged me to start an IRA. I never thought it would benefit me but he showed me how the money is tax deferred and helped me get it set up.
