I would not recommend this accounting firm at all. We used them last year to do my business and my family's personal tax returns. They messed up my kids return and my business tax return was three times the amount in comparison to four of my colleagues business tax returns. I tried to talk with Dave Reed over the phone about this matter and he was not only unprofessional but flat out rude. I would highly recommend that you stay away from this accounting firm.

My experience has been a nightmare mix of egregious incompetence and dishonesty.

1)They have been billing me for work that was never actually completed or professionally reviewed and were flat out lying about filing sales tax returns with the state. I have numerous emails documenting all this. They even accidentally copied me on an internal email admitting as much.

2) When they finally did file what was needed with the state they filed things completely wrong and had us paying MUCH higher taxes than what we actually owed...UNBELIEVABLE! HOW ARE THEY LICENSED PROFESSIONALS? This was after 3 months of being in the dark and finally us voicing our frustration. Good thing we had a reputable firm review their work before we got in real trouble.

3) They also botched our income tax returns. We were told we'd be getting a refund of a certain amount and two weeks later we get a blind email with our final tax returns and the refund magically dropped by over 1/2. No call, no explanation, no nothing (except of course the bill for services).

4) The entire reason we engaged Kim and her team was to obtain a sales tax license. We were repeatedly told it was being sent to us and they were working with the state to find where its at. We have come to learn it was sent their office months ago. So we have been unnecessarily paying sales tax for months because our license was lost in their office.

We have cut ties after 4 months of being jerked around. The only communication that was constant, was them trying to collect fees from us, but never showing us the actual details of the work that had (or hadn't) been done. I wish they used a fraction of the time spent chasing me down for money to actually communicate and do the job correctly.

We are small business owners who put our faith in this firm. It's mind blowing that they could act so egregiously when there is real financial and legal liability at stake. We asked numerous times for documentation on what work had been done and requests for owner Kim Hitchcock to just give us a call to help (or even just hear us out)....neither ever happened. Although, of course Kim was there to try to send us one last invoice as a parting gift after we moved on and had to hire someone else to audit and redo all of their their work. Luckily they ultimately agreed to write off our invoices for this fiasco.

It's hard to believe that a licensed CPA could act in such a shady, flagrantly incompetent, and horribly unprofessional way. I would highly recommend finding someone else. When you don't have trust, you don't have anything.

I have worked with Don and the crew since I started by business in 2000. When I started my business, a client of mine told me, "You are good at what you do and your area of expertise, but you are not an accountant." My client referred me to McNurlin & Associates, and I have been happy to have done so for many years.

They have provided on-site bookkeeping, tax preparations, corporate formation, quarterly filings, worker's comp audits, tax audits, and even assistance with a non-profit for which I am a board member. I am very happy with the service and results!
