Kurt and his team are extremely professional and did an amazing job installing my radon system in a timely manner AND came back to address an issue (one of the pipes slipped and was mis-aligned after a week) free of charge. Kurt was always super communicative via text and fair in pricing. I highly recommend this team/company to anyone in need of their services.

Called Kurt after googling radon mitigation and left a message. Got a quick text back asking for a picture of the meter. After a simple conversation, found out that everything was okay. I appreciated the prompt response and discussion. It could have easily turned out to be a service call and a charge. I will contact him again if there are any issues.

Longleaf environmental was thorough, quick, and responsive! They performed our Phase I Environmental Inspection and gave us a lot of knowledge about the property before purchase! Thank you!

We contracted Kurt for a Phase I environmental report on an office/warehouse property in Gainesville. He was through in his analysis and identified some possible concerns with a release of hazardous materials from a fire that occurred several years ago. The seller of the property did not have the reports he should have that showed the release had been cleaned up. Kurt could have issued the report and recommended a phase II study that at minimum would have cost the seller or myself $10,000+ or could have killed the deal. Instead, Kurt called upon a contact at the county office who was able to locate the required documentation of the clean up. Kurt went the extra mile to serve his customers rather than taking the easy way out. Never mind the fact that recommending a phase II could have resulted in more business for himself. Kurt is a person of integrity with a good work ethic. What more could you ask for? Thank you Kurt!

UPDATE: In response to the business' reply to my review: I never met Dawn, only Kurt. AARST does not "regulate" anything, but provide industry guidelines & best practices for radon system installations. The Florida law only states the bare minimum legal requirements which, for the homeowner, is not enough. Also, we tried contacting Kurt Howell (the owner) to improve the complaints listed below several times and ultimately received no satisfaction. As I said in my original review below, I personally would not hire a non-AARST/NRPP business again as members pride themselves to a higher standard.
I do not wish this experience on my worst enemy. Listen to the other reviewer, that is what happened with my family when we asked Kurt & Land Environmental to install a radon mitigation system in our home.
1. Not only did Kurt not perform any of the work, but he wasn't even on-site the day of the installation. Surprise surprise, we had tons of issues with it. Even the neighbors complained about the insane amount of noise our home was producing.
2. The system was completely shoddy. They installed an entirely unnecessary power-hungry secondary radon fan which of course got them paid more $ but didn't help us at all. There were extra 5" holes drilled through our concrete slab that were entirely unnecessary and needed to be filled. The pipes in the attic were not sloped to allow for condensation to drip downward. I could go on.
3. There was no post-mitigation test performed despite that being paid for and in our contract. Mr. Howell is going through some personal legal issues and seems to need the cash, and once he got paid we never heard from him again.
TLDR: listen to the other reviewer. Land Environmental are deceptively nice but we ended up having to pay another company to come in and completely redo the system (doubling our costs). They were impossible to get on the phone when we needed them. They will respond and say "If you wanna go with a company out of Jacksonville go ahead, but we are local". What difference does that make if you don't do what was agreed, hire mystery workers to do crummy work to our house, and we end up having to call in someone else anyway?
PRO TIP: to anyone needing a residential radon mitigation system installed, look up someone who is NRPP certified through AARST. They have a tool to search for professionals in Florida who follow a higher standard of work.

Extremely professional and most of all was able to answer all of my questions regarding the entire process of Mitigation installation. Experience and dedication go a long way in this industry. Highly recommend this company.

Kurt is very honest and will tell you exactly what you need to be compliant with whatever it is you're doing. He is truly an expert in his field and excellent at communication with his clients and colleagues. I've been working with him for years.

Land Environmental Group and Kurt have been our "go-to" trusted source for environmental inspections and mitigation for the past 6 years. Their work is completed on time and on budget with excellent communication throughout.
