John’s wealth of local knowledge and years of experience truly shines when we return to the dock with +100 lbs of fish! His boat and equipment are top notch and well maintained, which never slows us down while we’re ripping lips! My son and I fished with Kodiak Alaskan Adventures in early July. They were extremely professional and have everything for someone out of town needs.

This was my son’s first time fishing in Alaska and on the flight home was already asking if we can make this an annual trip.

John was very knowledgeable with the area and we were able to find a wide variety of fish. We will be returning next summer and fishing with John. I would recommend any one traveling to Kodiak for fishing to reach out to Kodiak Alaskan Adventures as my son and I had a blast fishing with John.

Captain John was excellent!! We were very impressed with his knowledge and execution of events on his boat. From fishing for rockfish and ling cod to Halibut to Salmon- he knows his fish and the waters of Kodiak! We had so much fun!! He also made it very fun for our kids too, which was a huge bonus! Thanks Captain! Hope to do it all again soon!

Highly recommend!

Took a semi-full day charter.

Limited on Lings and Rockfish and started throwing P-cod back because we were hitting my filet’ing limit.
The boat is clean, new feeling, and comfortable. It rides really great despite going on a somewhat windy/choppy day.

John is just what you want in a captain. He is a pleasant conversationalist but seemed genuinely excited about how fishing was going for us. He is attentive. He put us on fish. He was willing to give instruction so our AK newbies caught fish and had a great time.

Book early. Word is spreading…

John and Jimmy were awesome guiding our group of 6 on our Side x Side trail ride to the Saltery Cove to catch silvers. Their machines were great, they are super fun and along the way we saw five bears. The silver run was slow, but they took us to their “honey hole” and helped us to get our limit of BIG cohos. They taught us how to fish with eggs and even gave us some eggs for later use. Totally worth the money.

We had the BEST time with Kodiak Alaskan Adventures! Captain John was wonderful! Very knowledgeable about the area and the fishing! His boat is very nice. Warm, dry cabin to sit in, nice restroom, top of the line fishing equipment, easy to book, easy to find at the dock, best price in town!

I don’t think that Kodiak Alaskan Adventures could have done anything else to make our experience any better. It was seriously the perfect day. We are so thankful for the memories we made and all of the fish we caught! Next time we are looking for a fishing charter in Kodiak, they will be our first call.

Absolutely incredible experience with John on a full day fishing charter! We all ended up reaching limits on 3 different species, and he made the experience so fun. It was the highlight of an incredible trip! 10/10 must book!!

Thank you so much for an incredible three days of nonstop fishing! Catching cod, salmon, rockfish, and halibut was such an amazing experience. I really appreciate the extra time you spent with us on the ocean and all the fun we had together. Your knowledge and expertise made us feel so safe out there, and it was great to have a Coast Guard retiree guiding us.
The house was so nice and comfortable, and I really appreciated all the little touches. A special shoutout to Katrina for the homemade sourdough bread and delicious treats! They made our stay even more special. Your kindness truly made this adventure unforgettable! Thank you for making my grandson’s senior trip and my son’s forty birthday so fun! We’ll cherish these memories forever!
