James Owens is an excellent attorney. I was falsely arrested 28 days ago from a miscommunication from my Tennessee probation officer to Florida probation officer. Tennessee tried to say I did not do anything when it came to my probation, but because I had receipts and called James Owens and had my family get him the receipts while I was in jail and had no way to defend myself and I knew a public defender would not help me in any way like Owen’s and Dustin could do. He had me out on a violation of probation in 28 days, and all charges dropped and also got my probation terminated on the spot. The man is incredible. The best lawyer I have ever had and truly a blessing for my family and my life. I owe Mr. Owen’s so much more than what he asked me to pay him. I truly owe this man my life right now. If there is ever an attorney that you are considering and know that he will do everything in his power to help you to get the best results you can possibly get in your situation. He is 100% the man to go to. He had lawyer Dustin Harscher to stand in for a couple days to help on the case also while he was out of town on another case and the two different angles they both worked on my case at the same time worked perfectly. *DISCLAIMER: I have never utilized services personally from this practice and only am reviewing based upon what I have witnessed via the current televised trial where he is representing a high profile client within a murder trial. Please do your own research if you are requiring legal services and take my words with a grain of salt.*

I am a firm believer as anyone that any criminal defendant has a right to a fair trial with an impartial jury and unbiased judge.

Yet the behavior that this attorney has exhibited is beyond unprofessional. Of course he has a job to do and a difficult one at that when it comes to this current client.

It's one thing to make a mockery of our judicial system with his bogus requests on behalf of his client- makeup, hair stylist, wardrobe, snacks, and the like. But to get up in open court during a very emotionally charged trial where the family of the victim is present, criticizing the fact they couldn't hold themselves together while watching their loved one die at the hands of YOUR client, who by the way hasn't she'd ONE tear; and using it as an opportunity to grandstand- is DISGUSTING.

It's clear that this lawyer has not one shred of integrity and will allow his ego to dictate his behavior. The fact he interrupts the judge at every turn, argues when he doesn't agree with a ruling, and allows his emotions to leak into his body language in front of the jury also is proof of the unprofessionalism.

Again, it's one thing to fight for your client and to use evidence to plant seeds of reasonable doubt. But to base your whole defense on victim blaming, gas lighting, and just grandstanding is shameful. There's no doubt that this lawyer who should be bound by ethics has any sense of integrity or human decency. I guess that's why him and Sarah Boone are a perfect match.

Even Jose Baez had human decency and his client was vile.

The fact that Owens could fault a member of Jorge’s family, a mother from showing emotion at the fact her son Jorge beg for his life from inside a suitcase is despicable.
Owens also knew Sarah was lieing and allowed it anyway. Can’t help but wonder if Owens would feel the same had it been his loved one in the suitcase. Shameless!!!

Good grief at the negative comments. All because of Sarah Boone.

Here is a perspective people should acknowledge. He took on this case when 8 other attorneys gave up. He presented a creative defense. He did so with like a month’s notice. No indication that he’s even getting paid for this work. He knows what he’s doing.

People, this is TRUE representation. Don’t hate him because you hate the defendant, and if I was ever in trouble I would beg for this guy to be on my team.

This man is incredibly intelligent and experienced, and it's reprehensible that people are giving 1 star reviews from watching him on TV (although he is outstanding in that case). They are upset because of their belief that S. Boone is guilty. Ummm, it's not knew news that everyone deserves a fair trial, and these people are ridiculous. This man has a family people and he and his team are obviously very good at what they do.

I watched Sarah Boones trial on Court TV. And although I thought she was guilty, I was SUPER IMPRESSED of your defendant representation of her. You and your associates should be proud of your hard work. Great job. For real

- ethically questionable. He knew Sarah Boone lied and lied and bought into it for 15 mins of fame.
- compared to the State he was so behind the times. The State had a laptop and one note pad. Owen’s had disorganised scattered papers everywhere. Poster boards? Use the screens. He does not seem up to speed with modern changes available.
- the constant objections without why. Just “I object judge”. I mean seriously!!! Try “objection relevance “ as an example.
- the unnecessary rambling… just as well he was pro bono. Imagine hiring this guy and have so much time wasted on his rambling.
- Owen’s really comes across as though he would fit in having cups of tea with old ladies.
- hopefully he regrets his decision to try and get fame. He’s just shown himself to be an attorney to stay away from. Especially compared to William Jay!
