Tax Filing Tragedy. My H&CO CPA Lester Gruda did not file my return, misplaced my e-FIle form and did not reply to emails or phone calls alerting him to his failure to file my Taxes.
His office was a horrible mess ...and I guess my eFile form ended up getting lost there.
I visted the office in March, and suspected my tax return had not been filed when the April tax deadline passed and the IRS did not debit my bank account for taxes owed. I tried for several days every which way to contact Lester Gruda but he was avoiding me while scrambling to file my return. I resorted to espionage by calling the Coral Gables office and telling the receptionist, Vivian, my problem. Vivian was sympathetic that I had not received a copy of my return or any reply from Lester Gruda. Vivian then did a threeway call/transfer and ...Lester Gruda picked up the phone!!! (Because he could not caller ID me and thought it was just his other office.) (Vivian, I love you.) So Lester is BUSTED, he has to speak to me and Lester says:
" Yeah sorry about that, (misplacing the eFile form) listen I got a zillion things to do, your taxes will be filled a few days late don't worry about it." click.
On top of making a client suffer, Lester's mistakes ended up forcing me to pay a late filing fee to the IRS.
