The staff is great at the motor vehicle department but I hear too many horror stories about how the planning and zoning department chases people off their property. There seems to be a lot of discrimination between the haves and the have nots. If you have money to pay them off you're one of the lucky ones. The poor don't stand much of a chance here. Zoning department went from not requiring permits to overbearing with permits for everything including cutting out a driveway. Most of the time they don't even inspect but say that permits (permission) is required. Sad, sad, sad. I even heard that the 3 of them bailed out of jail and are awaiting trial. Such a scam.
