I wasn’t too fond of the wait time and that’s the ONLY reason I’m giving them a 4, otherwise they are hands down a 5 Star business. Hopefully they change it to where people are able to make appointments to cut down on the wait time but overall, this is an awesome service. 🩷

Community Business Services truly lives up to their name. The really do service the community. They do a great job and have great customer service. The wait may be long but it is well worth it. Al has been a great him to me in answering tax questions as the laws changed over the years.

I do recommend CBS for your tax preparation, the entire staff is great in answering questions and offering guidance to the customers. By Far the worst customer service ever. Very unprofessional .. the first time I called, the woman who answered had a attitude. The second time I called she was talking to someone in the background when she answered, then she just hung up. I called back 5 more times to just be ignored. Believe it or not,,,we have been using them for years.. but I rather go to someone where else now.

I don't usually post reviews, but my experience with Community Business Services was stressful, disappointing, and a huge waste of time.

I reached out to Al, the person at this business who deals with all of the taxes, the year before I knew I would need an accountant. Every time I called, he answered my questions promptly and free-of-charge. I valued his expertise, so I decided to give him our business: two personal tax returns and a business tax return.

We first asked him to take on our tax returns in October or November of 2018....the tax year was not even over yet, and we stayed in touch regularly about what the next steps would be.

Once we got into January of 2019, it was near impossible to get Al on the phone. I was told to send over all of my documents, which I did, and then weeks would pass without hearing anything back. I would call several times per week, only to be told to call back at 8 PM at night. I would call at 8 PM, only to be told to call at 9:30 PM. When I'd call back at 9:30, the line would be disconnected. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I went through this routine at least 10 times, not once getting a hold of Al.

April 15th came without us seeing any progress, but I was reassurred by women on the phone that they were filing an extension and that everything would be fine.

Once we were in May and I still was not making any progress, I told them that I was considering getting my taxes done elsewhere because I could no longer deal with the uncertainty of whether or not my taxes would be getting completed.

This caused them to send me documents within a few days and they asked me to confirm that they had the numbers correct. To my dismay, the expenses that they categorized on my tax return did not line up to the expenses that I had sent them...I'm not sure where they were getting the numbers from, but I had to spend hours recategorizing all of my expenses so that they would be correct on my tax return.

After doing this, I received official tax documents a bit later. My name was spelled incorrectly on more than half of these documents. They seemed to get it taken care of within a few more days, and then they told me what my partner and I had to pay. I paid the dues as suggested and was thankful that the customer service nightmare was finally coming to an end.

Well, we received letters from the IRS last week that we owe hundreds in late fees, additional taxes, and interest. Despite having ~6 months to work out our returns, Community Business Services still completed our returns incorrectly. Rather than try to reach back out to this business, we decided to just pay the fees to get it over with.

A few more things to note: we do not live in Tallahassee, so we were relying on phone calls and emails to communicate with the business. If you are there in person, you may be given better treatment / service. Some women on the phone were pleasant, while others were extremely rude and didn't seem to know much about what was going on.

Also, Al advertises himself as offering the cheapest tax services in town. If you have to go with the cheapest option out of necessity, then this may be your place. If, however, you would like to save yourself countless hours of stress and frustration, I recommend paying more and finding a more professional business to work with. I would have been much better off if I had just used a tool like TurboTax to file our returns on my own...
