Absolutely Outstanding Tax Professional – Brandie is the Best!

If you’re looking for a tax pro who is friendly, personable, and incredibly professional, look no further than Brandie! She is hands down the best tax expert my wife and I have ever worked with. From start to finish, she made the entire process effortless, stress-free, and even enjoyable—which is not something most people say about doing their taxes!

Ron was our accountant for years. In 2020 he forgot to file our taxes. As you can see he did in other reviews. They did get our penalties waved (only because we had perfect payment record). We never did receive refund of $3,584. They stopped returning our call and emails. Just being honest on who you are dealing with. Read the other reviews was not just us. No excuse for this.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! Stay far away from unless you want to spend your hard earned money to end up doing the work yourself. My husband and I hired Brandie and paid $175 to file our 2023 taxes. Submitted all documents via email well in advance, February 2023. We also hired Brandie to file our 2022 in 2023 and had a bad experience but decided to give her another opportunity. We should have listened to all warning signs.

In April 2024, my husband and I esigned our tax filing from Brandie. In July 2024, we received communication from the IRS in the mail, sent to our old address. That’s issue #1. Our taxes were filed with our old address. Thank god we are paying USPS for mail forwarding. The IRS was not accepting the eSign from Brandies office. Come to also find out, this offices system was Hacked and clients information was compromised. Issue #2, never was this communicated to us. We were told it was because “our names weren’t on the list of being impacted.” How do they know? Even more concerning our names weren’t on the list even though we were impacted. Brandie also told us that our names were on the list because we owed taxes and weren’t receiving a refund. Brandie advised us to sign the documents sent by the IRS and return them. She also advised us to wait to update our address due to the Identity Theft issue.

Here we are now in September, we received another document from the IRS, again sent to our old address and thankfully forwarded to the correct address. Wouldn’t have this issue if Brandie submitted with the correct information but clearly there’s a lack of attention to detail. The document we received now asks for us to call the IRS to verify our ID and that we did in fact submit a paper tax return. NEVER did we opt to file paper taxes because of issues with a lack of trust in mail services but here we are. After 19 phone calls to the IRS, I was able to successfully get ahold of a representative. I spent 1 hour and 44 minutes on the phone verifying my identity and learning additional information that was not communicated. Our Identity was compromised through Brace’s systems, a tax return was fraudulently filed by someone other than ourselves. In addition the money we owed for taxes was paid through my online account with the IRS website at Brandies direction. Turns out, this should have been paid online through the IRS website under my husbands profile as he is the primary so the IRS never received the money we owed. Thank god for the wonderful woman who graciously assisted me and my husband through this MESS that Brandie & Brace Accounting has caused.

Do not waste your time, do not waste your money and do not put yourself in the position to have your identity compromised due to their lack of due diligence. Brace Accounting owes us $175 plus more for the headache and chaos they have caused. We hired Brandie and trusted her, absolutely would never recommend her or anyone in this office to do the job with accuracy, trust and confidence.

We had been using Brace Accounting since 2018. Every year we file taxes and have always reported dividend income - even prior to 2018, going back years. But in 2020, the accountant failed to show our dividend income and we were fined by the IRS a penalty of $1076 plus the amount we owed to the IRS and the interest.
We never got a call back from the company, and when I finally reached the accountant, he promised me a call back that day which never happened.  He had all the documentation but missed this detail and failed to include it. This mistake should have been even more obvious as we have reported dividends all previous years he has dealt with us.
I understand we are ultimately responsible, even though we pay him $300 to do the taxes and he signs off on them. However, this was a simple calculation error Turbotax would have caught and only cost us $59.99. With TurboTax there still could have been a tax mistake, but when you are dealing with a professional you expect some basic lines of service.
To start, a thorough check of our taxes would have been appreciated, and when that did not happen, follow through with the call back promise. Decent businesses admit mistakes at the least, and better businesses act to rectify them. Neither happened.

If you’re looking for a CPA that will get the job done you’ve found it!!! I was in need of a same day income statement and Ron was there to help. He’s thorough, honest and his years of experience show. I couldn’t have asked for more. I will definitely do business with Brace Accounting again.

This was our first year doing our business taxes and we were of course very worried about it. We made an appointment and within an hour Ron had everything squared away. We got a significant amount of money back that we weren't expecting and we're extremely happy with how easy he made everything. He was also VERY fairly priced. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Absolutely the worst accountant ever.
He filed my taxes for 2016. Couple months ago I learned from the IRS he never submitted it to the IRS. I got a back penalty for $1700 for not filing my taxes.
After I confronted him about it, he blamed everyone else, mainly the IRS for not notifying him about taxes not going through. He won’t pay the penalty I incurred for his lack of filing and professionalism.
He is unbelievable. You hire a professional to file your taxes, you pay a fee and it’s not getting filed. Everyone makes mistakes I get that, but stand to your mistakes and fix them and pay, it just ignore it and make the customer pay $1700 for your mess up.

Stay away from this man and his whole firm. Very bad and unprofessional
