Within a short time frame of only six months- Coach Sean guided me through the transformation of the way I was leading my team. In my career, I have worked with business professionals and vendors in just about every vertical imaginable. You name the segment; I’ve worked with them. With a notable exception: Business coach. Don’t get me wrong, I have met with dozens of people who call themselves “coach” under a list of synonyms (advisor, strategist mentor, trainer, and in one instance Guru). All of them selling a promise to “help me grow” or increase “my bottom line”. On nearly each of the occasions that I met with the coach, I left that meeting unconvinced that the engagement would help anyone increase their bottom line other than the person trying to sign me up.

As an attorney with more than 23 years of providing legal and strategic counsel for a spectrum of organizations, from startups to Fortune 500 companies, I have had significant exposure to a diverse range of strategies, processes, and methodologies. As an entrepreneur during this same time frame, I had researched and addressed just about every issue an organization might encounter. Based on this experience, I believed that I “knew it all”. Consequently, when Sean McCarthy offered me a free 1-hour coaching session, I was reluctant to meet. I eventually agreed, having no expectation other than booking a meeting with someone who might have a unique insight into an issue my company was experiencing at that time.

I am so happy that I took that meeting.

Looking back, that hour was the first step in has been one of the most positive things that has ever happened to my career, my company and to myself personally.

Sean is truly a coach in every sense of the word. Unlike other coaches, he doesn’t read from a Tony Robbins manual or spout a bunch of recycled new-age babble. Instead, he provides valuable insight into the psychology of team building and management, strategies for solid financial planning and guiding me to follow through on the tougher challenges of business ownership. He does this by demonstrating successful methods of ethical, intelligent business management, then customizing his coaching to fit what my business needs while holding me accountable to execute on the strategies we put in place. He advises me on ways my company can be more efficient as it sails through choppy waters and motivates me to do what I need in order to captain that ship to safer harbors.

In summary, since meeting Sean McCarthy, I have been able to attract (and keep) the best team of professionals I’ve ever worked with, the best clients I’ve ever had, and I have become the best boss, husband, and dad I’ve ever been. The result: In less than one year, my business has nearly tripled and my quality of life has increased exponentially. My only regret is waiting as long as I did to take that meeting.
