I've used a CPA for over 25 years and have never considered a review or made a strong recommendation for any of them. I've always considered them a necessary evil with sub par service. Not the case with Canopy 360 the owner, Russell, is very engaged and cares deeply about their high level of service.

Having been with them now for 3 years I have developed an expectation of how things would go. The accountant, that was my primary contact at Canopy 360, left the company last year for a different position. I knew that this year would be a little more of a challenge due to having to build a relationship with someone new. Yesterday I sent an email to the company manager and CC'd the owner about a few things that I was frustrated about. Keep in mind that most of the staff is extremely busy as we are very close to the tax filing deadline. Within the hour I received a call from the office manager, received another call from the owners assistant to setup a meeting, and received an email from the owner. This morning, after a conference call we not only ironed out all of the issues, we also reviewed and made minor adjustments to my tax return.

The entire staff is very engaged and pay attention to the needs of their clients. Everyone has a different situation, when it comes to taxes, and a different focus. Being a small business owner I want to write off everything that is allowed by law, however my primary focus is to not have to deal with an audit. I'm detail oriented and this is the first CPA company that is willing and has taken the time to drill down to specifics to ensure I'm comfortable. We found a couple of things that I needed to understand, which Russell took the time to explain, and one that needed a minor adjustment. It reduced my write off however I'm more comfortable knowing that it greatly reduces my chances of drawing a major flag and/or an audit.

Just called, talk to what sounded a receptionist she is new and could not even referred me to someone else, they will not assist if it’s not “complex” even though their website states individual tax like a w2 which is what is stated on their questioner. I have 2 jobs a house and retirement trough my employer…. Should I be a millionaire for them to help? Don’t waste your time.
