I’ve recently moved to Portland and I’m applying for jobs. I wanted to get a little help in my search - looking for feedback that makes me the best possible candidate for a job. Someone recommended Rush Mentoring Services to me, and I am so glad I went to meet Lori Rush.

The first thing I noticed when I went to visit was how welcomed I felt. The receptionist was warm and friendly and offered me something to drink. Before I even met Lori, it was clear that my presence in the office was welcome, and I felt like an honored guest.

My meeting with Lori was jam-packed with valuable information and lively interaction. My primary goal was to get help with my resume, which I sent in advance. Lori had already looked over it and had several great ideas right off the bat. I thought my resume looked pretty good, but her experience in the field allowed her to pinpoint ways for me to make my resume even more powerful and concise. In addition to our meeting, she was available later via email to look over the changes I made to my resume.

Perhaps the most special part of the meeting was how Lori “got me” and why I do my work. She seemed to understand why I work in my field and even got teary-eyed as I talked about my passions. In a time when I was feeling a little uncertain about myself, it was so empowering to receive Lori’s words as a mirror for me.
I left her office feeling really good about myself, and armed with great tools to assist my job search. Lori Rush really knows her stuff.

Among several things, Lori Rush really is the go to person when it comes to hiring someone. I am a Sole Proprietor working solo and as business has grown each year, I keep saying that I need to hire someone soon. I talked with Lori about this and she gave me some really good feedback of what I need to do before I just hire. Hiring just anyone isn't going to necessarily make it all easier. She gave me something to work on so that when I am hiring someone I have a good plan. I have also seen the evidence of her doing a second interview with the potential hire. She has a keen eye and knows what to look for.
I am looking forward to working with Lori again on hiring that right person for my business for 2015.
