I found Missy’s advertisement for her accounting business (A.R.M.S.) in the back of a church bulletin. I had a phone consultation with her back in April, which I thought went well. During the consultation, I told her that my agreement with my current accounting firm would be expiring at the end of June and that I was looking to start with a new CPA/accounting firm as of July 1st for my business. After getting some background information about my business and what my needs were, she said that everything sounded fine with her and that she would be mailing me a letter of engagement to sign and return when I was ready to start with her company. Well, here we are in July and the letter of engagement still hasn’t arrived. I emailed her three times to follow up with her. Still, no letter was ever sent. She wasted two months of my time. I am currently left without an accountant for my business because I was depending on her to follow up on her end. I was just trying to support a fellow Catholic business owner/church parishioner. But if this is any indication of how she runs her business, she did me a favor by not sending the letter of engagement.
