Michael asked my wife to give him a good review to give her a discount. She advised him she could not afford the rates he was giving in drafting a basic will. He tried charging her $1050 for the basic will. She advised him she needed to speak with me first. Michael kept callling my wife for 3 days before she called him back. She advised him that was not in the budget. He lowered the price to where it was affordable and told her to give him a good review on google and she went with it. He asked her to do a questionare never speaking to my wife’s mother before the Will was drafted. My wife called him immediately after she received the draft to inform him it was not what her mother wanted. He scheduled to meet with her and her mother and I was present. My mother in-laws first language is creole. My wife advised him that there are certain things she will not understand because she is not fluent in English. He asked did she read the will my mother in law said no because she is legally blind and her daughter told her what was on the will. Michael attempted to ask my mother in law questions and he felt like based on what she responded the will he drafted was correct. We advised my mother in law in creole what he said and she stated that is not what she told him. My wife advised Michael that they may need an interpreter. Michael said he did not have a translator/ interpreter but if we can get a neutral party he would not mind coming back out and meeting with the translator and my mother in law. I called Michael to advise him I have a translator and now he states we have to pay the fee all over again to have the documents corrected. This is highway robbery and not fair. Michael never disclosed that we would have to pay again for documents he drafted before even speaking to his client. This is unprofessional and I would never recommend Michael for anything he will make it sound good at the beginning but the outcome will not be to your benefit.
