We used them because of a referral from our financial advisor. Service started out okay but there was no strategy planning and communication was horrible. We would ask a question and get a response that had nothing to do with our question. We still have an email that has been unanswered. The only positive thing about this company was the assistance with Quickbooks and the book keeper. Do not recommend communication was horrible.

We are a small non profit water utility in Weld County Colorado. As such, there are statutes that determine audit requirements. We were under the impression that an annual audit was required so for years we engaged an auditor. Spending over $7000 each year.
Turns out this is not a requirement for our organization. Why, through JDS’s process was this not brought to our attention ? Getting JDS to return calls is similar to trying to get through to the IRS or Social Security. We experienced considerable bookkeeping issues and cash flow problems. Issues that got identified and corrected by a bookkeeper and a member of our community. Never identified in any audit done by JDS. But, the pictures show, they have a beautiful office. Busy decorating instead of offering good service I guess. Or going on extended vacations, as we found out the hard way. I am sure JDS will tell you that high accounting bills are a good write off.

In my role as CEO of Triumph Capital Management, I have had the opportunity to work alongside hundreds of CPA firms, JDS is heads and shoulders above all. Personally, I like to refer to them as the CPA to the CPA’s, as we often find ourselves on the phone with one of the partners of JDS, Mr. Brian Chase, who graciously is educating a client’s current CPA on tax, and the appropriate tax preparation techniques. My husband and I used this group to do our taxes and could not have been more disappointed. We have both recently changed work situations and are self-employed, so we knew enough to know we did not know how to estimate our quarterly payments. We presented all of the information to this firm and an important portion of it was ignored and therefore our quarterlies were grossly miscalculated (we are told due to heath issues of the person in charge of our taxes, but it seems that within a firm someone else could have double checked the work if a co-worker was under duress). Long story short, we ended up with an enormous tax bill at the end of the year with taxes and penalties incurred from the IRS due to paying incorrect quarterly amounts (we have email records of this group saying that paying this quarterly amount would prevent us from incurring any fees). This group is taking no responsibility for their negligence and on top of our tax bill we have a large bill from them for their services (including a $165 charge for a half hour phone call). We have since found another accountant who was shocked at how much JDS was charging for their services.

I came here about a year ago recently visited the Denver area once again came here after a 11 hour drive from Mason city Iowa (from working all day) an was greeted a treated like I was a regular here.. from then on me an my co workers would come there every night to eat an have that relaxing drink or two followed with a shot.. bartenders were right on point new what we drank an even ate an had us seats open an food ordered in a hurry. Never a empty glass or even a dry conversation..
