We met Steve Foltz about 7 or so years ago. During these past years we have come to know Steve as a very professional, helpful and friendly person.
In the beginning, my wife and I had recently come together, as a couple, with the finances we brought to the table being predominantly mine. Nevertheless, Steve saw that my wife was included in all discussions and meetings. We viewed that as a very caring and astute way of doing business.
Steve and his firm have provided many educational opportunities for his clients to learn and participate in their own success by providing many free seminars and classes. Additionally, Steve’s group offers referrals to other professionals that have also provided much needed assistance. For example, Attorneys that prepare Trust documents. We view his firm as a retirement one stop shop where most all your needs can be met.
Steve is always available for discussions should a need arise. Also, he ensures that each year he touches base with his clients to perform a review of the past years results.

I came to Mathies Financial Partners through Steve Foltz, who was a fellow Rotarian.

I was interested in meeting with Steve and Jeff Mathies because the Brokerage Form I had been with for a few decades contacted me only occasionally and when my agent did it was to suggest changes in my portfolio.

In order words, I always called them when I was concerned or scared or thought contact for reassurance was required.

I believe placing my life’s worth in someone’s hands is kinda like getting married, only without the passion. Trust is the key!

I had numerous early morning coffee shop meetings with Steve and Jeff before I decided to make the change.
Why did I switch?

During the lengthy and necessarily enlightening meetings we had I got to know these two gentlemen not just through their market resumes, projections or investment philosophies but as men who shared their core morality, their faith, their love of family and country.

In other words, I trusted them when they told me, “Our job is to help you learn how not to worry.”

That was 9 years ago.

I meet with Jeff and Steve, who is my financial coach, at least twice a year, sometimes more. I have a modest, uncomplicated portfolio. Steve and Jeff review it with me in detail and encourage me keep asking questions (that I feel embarrassment for because reveal my investment ignorance) until I understand what we are discussing and why I consider alternations or changes.

I think this methodology is the very nucleus of their being “coaches.”

I have taken their suggestions on numerous occasions because I have understood the pros and cons of each alteration and am able to truly make informed decisions based on their straight talk and that, as an investor, I know what my emotional risk ratio needs to be. That’s KEY!

Thus, I haven’t once worried during my tenure with Mathies Financial Partners.

My advice would be this: Meet with these guys. They’d really good people. Take the time to get to know a bit about their souls as well as their investment protocols. I think you might feel very comfortable in the Mathies FP family. ‘Cause that’s what it is, a family.
