When I met Rimi I was in a bit of a slump and had tabled my freelancing UX Research consulting dreams for a while. Through Rimi's coaching, I was able to:

- Find the motivation to do the work and understand what I needed to do in order to get to where I want

Rimi leads by example and I knew that if I needed to, I could ask her for advice on all the nitty gritty details of how to start an LLC: what paperwork needed to be filed, what services to use or not use, etc...However, Rimi's real value is instilling in others the self-belief that they not only CAN do anything, but that they WANT to.

She equipped me with the tools I needed to figure out the bulk of it on my own, thus empowering me. This is very important to me: that I do the work myself so that I can understand everything so that in the future, I know what I did and know that I can overcome any future obstacles. Rimi added that additional safety net I needed to step outside of my comfort zone and try new things.

Lastly, I appreciated Rimi's ability to not only motivate, but to really listen and readjust her approach to the individual client as necessary. It is a gift and leadership skill to be able to know when to push and when to lessen the pressure so that the individual can figure out what best works for them.

One main principle for any coach is to empower but not overpower. As a client seeking longterm change, you want to leave believing you arrived there using your own skills but also acquired a new set of tools tailored to your priorities. Otherwise, your coach becomes your crutch. Rimi is able to point out your strengths, counter your negative self-talk, help identify the kind of goals that you truly want but were too shy to say out loud, and provide ways to get there.
